What should the note on the candy cane say?

ok, at my school they are having this thing where if you give out $1 you can send a candy cane to someone. you can send it to anyone in the school. i am a freshmen, i wanted to send one to this senior because on the 1st day of school the freshmen were paired up with a senior to show them around the school. and he was really nice to me, but it seems like all the other seniors didnt really want anything to do with the freshmen. but i just cant think of what to put on the candy cane note. i dont want to make it sound like i like him (which i do)
but i was thinking of putting “do you remember me from the first day of school?”
my friend told me that would be sweet just to say thank you. but in your opinion, what would you put on the note?

What a cute idea!
I would put “It was nice having you as my tour guide on the first day of my freshman year”.
He will remember you so you won’t have to say anything about that. It’s not like he had to show 15 other freshman around. It was just you. : )
